My heart ached for this family as they made statements after the memorial service. What a credit her children are to her…… she must have been so distraught to leave them… just so sad.

I read that one of her suicide notes was critical of the hospital…. no doubt things will be clearer with time

It’s Christmas and she won’t be there with her family.

No matter who knows what, who gets blamed or whether anything like this happens again, it’s a tragedy no one can undo.

I feel so sad about it.

She had children to care for..she had no right to take herself away from them, especially over this issue.

I remember when I lived in Hackney; a young woman took her small child in her arms and threw herself from her small flat at the top of the tower block.

Things get bad, sometimes very bad, for many of us. When you have people who need you, you have no right to take the quick exit.

Don’t think we can look at this from a point of being right or wrong, really. What is clear though is that whatever issues / concerns / worries she had, they clearly appeared to be unsurmountable, and not all of us are blessed with wherewithal to overcome certain things. And we simply don’t know how we will tackle a situation until we confront it.

But like you and others have said, it’s a grave loss for her family and friends. It’s a sorry state of affairs however you look at it.

ok I’ve read all the comments, and chastised myself (masochistically speaking) at the lack of inverted commas in the thread title.

    But they did kill her.
Or rather the pressure of being associated with the media outcry over anything to do with that particular instititution was enough to drive her over the edge.

Especially after her previous failed attempts. That much seems clear now.

    :(

They didn’t kill her toy… and I think its irresponsible to sensationalise the event like a tabloid headline. This lady obviously had issues and needed help, if it hadn’t been this event it would most likely have been another. So sad for all involved though, especially her family.

Speculation over what drove somebody to commit suicide is a waste of time as the only person who can answer that question is not around to do so
