Name me the last time Uraquey did something at a World Cup? I think they’re wins were in 1930 and 1938? or something when the competition was in it’s infancy and the number of teams taking part were limited, and even then those wasnt always the best teams who took part.

Nottingham Forest did well for a period. Much like Aberdeen and D.Utd did up here in the eighties, but because of Forest, Aberdeen and D. Utd’s size they didnt sustain it.

Ok i’ll take you’re word for it that the football was the national sport of the USSR.
Why they didnt do anything?Maybe that had something to do with the Communist system and outlook? I dont know.

The point I was making about Celtic and Rangers was it’s unfeasbale to expect any more than 2 clubs of there size in a small country like Scotland. Indeed to have 2 clubs as big is an achievement. Take the two of them out of the equation and the SPL would b a healthy competitive league in a small country. There would b nothing wrong with that.
Look at the Irish League. A country not much smaller than Scotland, but they’re league is only semi pro. I think we do allright for our size.
