Most people are being hit by this and its going to get worst. If you have 2 cars the price will hit you hard.
But I do think the price rise is good thing, a lot of cars will be removed from the roads.
The increase in road tax should remove more next year.
I don’t know why people feel they have the right to own a car, it should be the last option for transport.
There are some families with teenagers still at home, have 3 or 4 cars, this is madness.
The growth in the “school run” has exploded in the last 20 years, people having 2 cars has grown.
Pensions who have free bus passes still owning cars
Most people will moan about the cost of running a car, but few need them, I’m hoping these cars will soon be priced off the roads.

this poxy country I would. :evil:28 May, 2008 at 1:51 pm #338714Our bus service has cut down from every 10 minutes to every 20 minutes.
It was never every 10 minutes anyway what an excuse!
I was talking to a mini cab mate the other day, its costing him an extra 100 quid a week.

28 May, 2008 at 2:14 pm #338716Soon this country will be like Holland, Push bikes everywhere, cos nobody will be able to afford to drive.
Some people in the know have predicted oil prices will double in the next 12-18months, that should be interesting at the pumps.

What about the families and households that need more than one car tho. Sometimes things are not always as clear cut as we would make them out to be. Needs must and all that
28 May, 2008 at 4:46 pm #338719I can’t see why families need 2 cars.
Most school are on bus routes or in walking distant.
Most people go shopping in one car.
Most people jobs are close to there homes.
I can’t think of any reason why families need 2 cars.

Bon bon we need two cars in my house. One for my husband to go to work and one for me to take the kids to school. And no they can,t walk, it,s well over a mile there and back, and there are other factors too. Incidentally my wonderful old Bat mobile has today passed it,s MOT again for another year. Hows that then? Not bad for an old D reg volvo driven by a mad Bat.
28 May, 2008 at 5:09 pm #338721A mile is nothing. Get scooters if you don’t want to walk it, good fun for all the family.
