Rudeboy,
No disrespect here meant at all..
My days I was baptized a Roman Catholic.. yep went to Catholic schools and yep drilled in Latin, words never understood lol, in choir, mass every day before school. But complied to the teachings..
But young the direction of my parents, a road or journey both my parents said to brother and I, we needed to learn, be exposed to as a beginning of religious faiths. Us to decide as we grew older….my parents were not of low intelligence, rather my dad super super smart even managed to go to college while in the military and fighting a war….
My brother and I still intelligent in my opinion, good professional careers, always independent never asking for financial support ever, living off them, we did well..
As my brother could care less he never went to Church after exposure..me on the other hand later in life left Catholic faith due to politics and hyprocrite Priests….
I love mission work all Churches do for the good of those whom suffer..I involve myself much in helping needs of others. I go often when can as I call those I pray with my extended family…there for me in needs of suffering and or hardships..for me personal… and trust me have been there for me.
So when you think Christians have lower intelligence, is this fair to say? May not have that title of being a Christian, or term…but I do support the needs of all whom suffer. Actually every faith am familar with all preach like Christianity, helping each other…..times of need..that makes us all of faith little equal him my opinion.

18 March, 2018 at 8:33 pm #1089945I believe people believing in Jesus, the bible and ” Christianity ” are generally of a lower intelligence. You state there are highly respected scientists that believe in God – name them.
George Ellis, a long-time friend of Hawking.
Oh yeah, but apart from Ellis, what did the Romans do for us?
John C Polkinghorne.
oh yeah, but apart from Ellis and Polkinghore, what else did the Romans do for us?
and so on, and so on
18 March, 2018 at 8:40 pm #1089946Dear Mr Sceptical often drives on the wrong sides of the road in these debates and then when he has regained control of his vehicle, denies all knowledge of the swathe of crashes he has just caused.
18 March, 2018 at 8:43 pm #1089947I never mocked Hawkin’s appearance, rudeboy.
I would never mock the appearance of someone with a disability, much less a disability with which I’ve had personal acquaintance.
I’d be an unusual kind of monster to do that.
Read the post with more care and less bias- it’s on p.4 I think.
I’ll take this up soon in a post I’m finding difficult to write, as I don’t want to upset someone here whom I have grown to like and respect over the years. I’d rather not write the post at all, but I have to for my sake, and then that’s it with the question.

Can you provide a quote from “Hawkings friend ” where he says God exists or have you just googled him where it says ” quaker” . According to the census I’m roman catholic as I was brought up and went to a Roman catholic school , what’s your point? Show me direct quotes from these “top scientists “( Elis was a mathematician ) using the bible as evidence of facts in universal laws in their books relating to Jesus and biblical teachings.
I find your beliefs bizarre, I have no issue with you believing in God but to claim you are a Christian but not a creationist so presumably you don’t believe in the garden of Eden etc. You can’t pluck passages out of the bible using them as proof of something but then rejecting more implausible passages… you either believe it all or you don’t. If you don’t believe in the book which Christianity is based upon you aren’t a Christian
18 March, 2018 at 8:57 pm #1089949I think everyone is well aware of his strength of character in overcoming so many hurdles physically, I wish people would stop going on about his disability all the time. He had a brilliant mind, and I’m pretty sure he’d rather be remembered for that than how spooky his voice sounded in an auditorium. All those points have been made earlier, several times. Jeez…. give the guy a break….

I’m sure I said that pages ago

Yes Linda, no offence intended. 50 seconds in you can see the mental illness of Christianity reveal itself
18 March, 2018 at 9:12 pm #1089953I dont know whats more tragic , the woman in the clip or adults in the 21 st century watching behind stony faced thinking this is something to believe in..cant see scep there but prob on the back row
