With great sadness I’m posting that my dear friend ChatGuide MO aka Chess passed away on the 4th November, 2021 due to Covid.

As many of you old ones knew she had a life long battle with her health. You will also know the strength of her humour and how she made us all laugh. She was so clever and generous.

We formed a strong friendship through the JC Quiz. She had stayed with me a couple of times and I had been to stay with her in Ireland a couple of times.
We made some fantastic memories. She and her husband took me to the Giants Causeway and the Titantic museum and I took her to Bourton on the Water and her husband for a Silverstone experience. We had many more days like that to many to mention. How we both loved those days and laughed!
JC can be a pile of poo at times but I will always thank it for bringing us together and will cherish those memories forever.

    RIP my lovely, lovely friend.

Not Chessy. Its so sad to think she gone.

I just thought she was avoiding…and she did all the time too

She was going to leave her hubby and run way with me to static caravan in  Scunthorpe once.  After she found out what I looked like it… she called it off  but I felt at the time chessy was too cheap to pay the bus fare  ;-)

If there is a God, let hope chessy became an angle and is now watching over me in the shower while I’m going all foamy.    I mite slip on the soap   ;-)

Its hard to think of another gone to covid, there seems to be so many of my generation falling pray even with the vaccines.

I always thought she go slamming her keyboard or laffing at the screen

I was taught as a child our spirit lives on in the family and friends we leave behind.  My thoughts are with her loved ones, those who knew her best and will miss chessy daily.

    RIP Chessy x

You mite not understand this, I’ve tried to remember the whole person.

Chessy came here for a laff and a moan like so many others. I never heard her complain about her health problems once. Chessy wasn’t that kind of person.

While I’m sat here drinking my tea wondering what Chessy say about this thread.

I’d think she say “Rose is making this up, I’m not dead !!! ”

I cant believe Chess has gone, Poet introduced me to Chess when i first joined and we got on like a house on fire, she was great to chat to, she always had good advice if you had a problem, and a great sense of humour with jokes and quick off the cuff funny comments in the quiz which would have everyone laughing, she will be greatly missed.

Fishy you must have known her much better than I thought because with her sense of humour that is exactly what she would be saying !  :rose:

I’m very sad to have just heard about Chess. She was one of the good ones and I have fond memories of her in JC.
