Exactly Jane, Draculina talks like this was a social media incident:
Punched in the stomach,
Called horrible names,
Trash thrown at him,
Made to lick a bus window,
Jumped going to the bus,
Ridiculed over and over,
And that was only what the mother said, it was probably ten-fold…And finally, at his lowest point, taunted by his bully to use his own gun to kill himself…
What block button stops this Draculina?
9 July, 2017 at 1:57 pm #1059660Drac, saying that blocking messages makes the problem disappear is wrong., If the kid is at school with the bullies, the problem is still there. If the kid has to travel on the same school bus every day as the bullies, the problem is still there.
That is a different problem, and requires a different solution.
If people sending you messages that offend you is a problem, then blocking them makes the problem disapear. There will be no more messages.
Notice the part I have made bold, this is simple if/then logic. I’m not sure how this is escaping you. I said that IF x is a poblem THEN it can be solved by y. I never said anything about z.

I’m not talking about this specific case.

That’s the real issue though King, it is often all interconnected when it is children, physically in person and mentally via social media etc. The threats and taunts made on social media prolonging the the cruelty and mental anguish of the child.
Suicide for children and teenagers in the UK is at a 14 year high, it is obviously not a rare event and it should be raising red flags that it is increasing and questions should be asked why. I assume it is similar in the USA.

Draculina you are relating to this case as your first post said:
“A healthy person would just block the number and carry on with their life.”
That was why I and others highlighted the real abuse, this was not social media, not even sure why social media got brought into it as the documentary does mention it either, and if it was involved it’s even more worse :)

Threats or taunts made on social media are trivially easy to avoid.
Block anyone who has made a threat, or anyone who you suspect may make one. If you think it is something that will cause you ‘mental anguish’.

Read the title of the video you posted.
That was what I was responding to in that specific instance, as I already said earlier.
Why people must continue to misrepresent what I have said I don’t know.
9 July, 2017 at 2:21 pm #1059678I knew it would be a bad idea to post on this thread because people would react emotionally and blind them to what I am actually trying to say.

Actually, as keeps getting repeated, it isn’t as simple as a simple block. If it was online bullying would have ended years ago. You paint the world as if it black and white, if only life was so uncomplicated.
