I’m not really sure why are acting like I don’t know what bullying is.
Online bullying is easily ignored. In cases where the abuse is only online, they will lose interest very fast when they don’t get the response that they were expecting.
It is not even as if there is another solution to online bullying. If you think you have one then I would like to hear it.
10 July, 2017 at 3:37 pm #1060156If it is so easily ignored and the bullies soon give up, why is it so widespread?

Because people don’t ignore it, they respond.
10 July, 2017 at 3:55 pm #1060162I should probably point out there is a difference between a troll and a bully, they have different motives, and require different actions to be taken.
From personal experience the best way to deal with a (online) bully is to completely ignore them. I don’t block them, I just act as if they never sent me any messages. The blocking itself can be seen as a response, but most people would probably find it easier to ignore when it is blocked.
The best way I have found to deal with trolls is humour, they will usually stop if you make a self-deprecating or ironic joke about the subject they are sending messages about.
10 July, 2017 at 4:08 pm #1060165There are different variations of trolls. Some just want to provoke a response, some target individuals to bully them etc. A bully is a bully whatever label is applied to describe them.
10 July, 2017 at 5:31 pm #1060177I am genuinely curious how you would define a troll and a bully Drac.
What’s the difference?
I have had, and do have, personal experience of being trolled and trust me humour wouldn’t work.
10 July, 2017 at 5:39 pm #1060181If you’re being bullied, the worst reaction is to respond thoughtlessly, or to panic. Take your time, think of how the bully or bullies will respond. Each case is different.

A troll usually is trying to wind you up, and to get you to ‘bite’ by saying things that they know will get a response from a person. Usually they don’t intend to cause harm.
If you have ever seen me in the chat rooms then you have probably seen me do very mild trolling to people.
Edit:
I will provide an example of the most mild trolling possible, which i did earlier:Person : Andy Murray is the best.
Drac: Is he the golfer?
Person: Tennis drac
Drac: Tennis is the one with the bat, right?
Person: Racket
Drac: I thought that was rugby
Person: Lmao dracClearly the other person realised that I was trolling them at that point.

10 July, 2017 at 8:47 pm #1060249Why is that trolling drac? Sounds like you were just having a light hearted joke with some one to me.
