Very funny Lucy and unfortunately how we are seen by lots across the world.
“An eye for an eye would leave the whole world blind”
The dad who lost his son called for calm in his grieving. There has been no backlash from his community even though he must have felt let down by the police who should have protected him and everyone around him as they were simply protecting their properties.
I hope the government honour their pledge of helping rehouse people and businesses who have lost so much. Public Disorder schemes and charities have always been in place.12 August, 2011 at 10:24 pm #47590312 August, 2011 at 10:46 pm #47590414 August, 2011 at 1:42 am #47590514 August, 2011 at 1:56 am #475906A friend of mine sent me this (wish I’d written it) THE RIOTERS’ PRAYER.
Our father, who art in prison, my mum knows not his name, thy Riots come, read it in the Sun, in Birmingham, as it is in London. Give us this day our Welfare bread & forgive us our looting, as we’re happy to loot those who defend stuff against us. Lead us not into employment but deliver us free housing, for thine is the Tellies, the Burberry & the Bacardi, forever and ever…Innit !!!!

I would have hoped your creative aspirations ran higher than this drivel anc.
Wish it were that simple. Even early reports indicated that many of those looting, or trying to get in to loot were employed.
I guess it’s comforting to think that people who do stuff like that are not like ‘us’ in every way. But even those on welfare are actually a lot like ‘us’ in many ways.
Btw Burberry and bacardi? that’s sooooooo 1990s!
