I do understand and accept that it is very sad that she is dead and a loss to her family. I also agree that she achieved more than i ever have or ever will in the way of fame or money. However, that does not detract from the fact that she totally wasted her life, her talent and the many chances that she was given.
i may not have made a lot of money, i may not be famous, but i raised a daughter and lived my life and used , not abused, whatever talents i may have.

24 July, 2011 at 12:37 pm #474418Well the thing people are missing here is that drugs are addictive and Amy was a victim. If you want to blame anyone for Amy’s death dont blame her, blame the Billionaire Drug Barons sat in Columbia and the importers and pushers.
She was a young woman with talent who found fame too early, she used drugs as a prop… a lot of very nasty and sinister people made money from her addiction and encouraged her in all sorts of ways.
Its easy to judge… but dont be too harsh on her.
24 July, 2011 at 1:03 pm #474419Of course it is sad that someone so young felt their life worthless to the point she knew she was destroying herself.
I was never a fan, and could never understand why the tabloids gave her so much column space, knowing she was a junkie and a spoilt brat.
Her dad, a normal working class guy scrimped and saved and worked his guts out to send her to stage school so she could fulfill her dreams of fame and fortune. The minute she got that she was on drugs! What is that about? If you are the type of person who can’t cope, you would probably be the type of person who would not be ambitious to fullfill your dreams.
Her dad lives not too far from me and lives in the same area he did before she was famous. What did he get out of helping her find her dreams? A dead daughter. As for not judging. Why not? I know drugs are wrong, I am not an addict I can judge. We all have stress in our lives, at this moment in time I am coping with things, infact it’s probably the worst time of my life. I am not looking for drugs. I don’t even smoke, I drink but havn’t touched a drop for months even so. It’s a feeble excuse relying on cigarettes drink and drugs.
Yes it’s harsh but it’s my opinion.

Yes, and don’t forget the British troops making a nice little earner!
24 July, 2011 at 1:40 pm #474421Everyone copes with stress, differently. She had her faults but it doesn’t make her any less of a human being or her death any less painful to those that loved her. R.I.P Amy Winehouse.
