There Will Never Be Another Tonight
Bryan Adams / Waking Up The NeighboursPut on your best dress darling
Can’t you see the time is right
There will never be another tonightIf you got your motor runnin’
Then I got my engines on
Say the word and darlin’ we’ll be gone
Outside the world is waitin’
But we won’t lose control
So come on now – let the good times rollYou gotta ride your broom right into my room
Kick off your shoes make yourself at home
Wave your little wand – weave a little spell
Make a little magic – raise some hellThere will never be another tonight
C’mon baby – hold on tight
There will never be another tonight
I don’t care if it’s wrong or right
We got nothin’ to lose just me and you
In your wildest dreams…
There’ll never be another tonightWho cares about tomorrow
Let the wind fill your sails
A runaway train ridin’ on the rails
We got the bases loaded
Home run – power play
Tonight’s the night we’re goin’ all the wayYou gotta ride your broom right into my room
Kick off your shoes make yourself at home
Wave your little wand – weave a little spell
Make a little magic – raise some hellThere will never be another tonight
C’mon baby – hold on tight
There will never be another tonight
Flash your diamonds shine your lights
There’ll never be another tonight
I don’t care if it’s wrong or right
Cause we got nothin’ to lose just me and you
In your wildest dreams…
There’ll never be another tonightSome people they’re looking for paradise
Others they’re looking for inner light
Me I’m just having the time of my life
I’m headin’ out, to check it out
Check it out!!10 June, 2008 at 5:55 pm #139673The Ballad of Lucy Jordan
Marriane FaithfullThe morning sun touched lightly on the eyes of Lucy Jordan
In a white suburban bedroom in a white suburban town
As she lay there ‘neath the covers dreaming of a thousand lovers
Till the world turned to orange and the room went spinning roundAt the age of thirty-seven she realised she’d never
Ride through Paris in a sports car with the warm wind in her hair
So she let the phone keep ringing and she sat there softly singing
Little nursery rhymes she’d memorised in her daddy’s easy chairHer husband, he’s off to work and the kids are off to school
And there are, oh, so many ways for her to spend the day
She could clean the house for hours or rearrange the flowers
Or run naked through the shady street screaming all the wayAt the age of thirty-seven she realised she’d never
Ride through Paris in a sports car with the warm wind in her hair
So she let the phone keep ringing as she sat there softly singing
Pretty nursery rhymes she’d memorised in her daddy’s easy chairThe evening sun touched gently on the eyes of Lucy Jordan
On the roof top where she climbed when all the laughter grew too loud
And she bowed and curtsied to the man who reached and offered her his hand
And he led her down to the long white car that waited past the crowdAt the age of thirty-seven she knew she’d found forever
As she rode along through Paris with the warm wind in her hair10 June, 2008 at 5:56 pm #139674Taking It All Too Hard Genesis
No not this confused again
No not the same mistakes again
You’re taking it all to heart
You’re taking it all too hardWhy can’t you see what’s going on?
I know you’d never admit
You would ever be to blame
Everything’s a game to you
The old days are gone
And they’re better left alone
I cannot help you, it’s much too lateNo not this confused again
No not the same mistakes again
You’re taking it all to heart
You’re taking it all too hardThere’s always a reason why it happened
You never never did anything wrong, but it
It just happened to fall apart
You’re taking it all too hardNow that it’s dark, all of your fears
Like shadows creeping around
You’re much too scared to look down
And it’s lonely out on your ownThe old days are gone
And they’re better left alone
But I still miss you
I keep it to myselfOh no not this confused again
Oh no not the same mistakes again
You’re taking it all to heart
You’re taking it all too hardOh no not this confused again
Oh no not the same mistakes again
You’re taking it all to heart
You’re taking it all too hard
You’re taking it all to heart
You’re taking it all too hard10 June, 2008 at 5:58 pm #139675Stairway To Heaven
There’s a lady who’s sure
All that glitters is gold
And she’s buying a stairway to heaven
When she gets there she knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Ooh, ooh and she’s buying a stairway to heavenThere’s a sign on the wall
But she wants to be sure
’cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
In a tree by the brook
There’s a song bird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, it makes me wonderThere’s a feeling I get when I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thought I have seen
Rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, it really makes me wonderAnd it’s whispered that soon
If we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn
For those who stand long
And the forest will echo with laughter
If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow
Don’t be alarmed now
It’s just a spring clean for the May queen.Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run
There’s still time to change the road you’re on
And it makes me wonder
Your head is humming and it won’t go
In case you don’t know the piper’s calling you to join him
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering windAnd as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to rollAnd she’s buying a stairway to heaven

Are you out there
Can you hear me
Can you see me in the darkI don’t believe it’s all for nothing
It’s not just written in the sand
Sometimes I thought you felt too much
And you crossed into the shadowlandAnd the river was overflowing
And the sky was fiery red
You gotta play the hand that’s dealt ya
That’s what the old man always saidFallen Angel
Casts a shadow up against the sun
If my eyes could see
The spirit of the chosen oneIn my dream the pipes were playing
In my dream I lost a friend
Come down Gabriel and blow your horn
‘Cause some day we will meet again10 June, 2008 at 6:03 pm #139677Princes Of The Universe Queen
Here we are, Born to be kings
We’re the princes of the universe
Here we belong, Fighting to survive
In a world with the darkest powersAnd here we are, We’re the princes of the universe
Here we belong, Fighting for survival
We’ve come to be the rulers of your world

I have no rival, No man can be my equal
Take me to the future of your worldBorn to be kings, Princes of the universe
Fighting and free, got your world in my hand
I’m here for your love and I’ll make my stand
We were born to be Princes of the universe
No man could understand
My power is in my own handOoh, Ooh, Ooh, People talk about you
People say you’ve had your day
I’m a man that will go far
Fly the moon and reach for the stars
With my sword and head held high
Got to pass the test first time – yeah
I know that people talk about me I hear it every day
But I can prove you wrong cos I’m right first time
Yeah. Yeah. Alright, watch this man fly
Bring on the girlsHere we are. Born to be kings.
We’re the princes of the universe
Here we belong. Born to be kings
Princes of the universe. Fighting and free
Got the world in my hands. I’m here for your love
And I’ll make my stand
We were born to be princes of the universe10 June, 2008 at 11:44 pm #139678
AnonymousChris de Burgh – The Painter
I’d like you to meet my last queen,
Over there large as life
She’s been hanging there for almost a week,
My poor late wife; What do think of the colour of her skin,
It has the bloom of a rose,
You see she begged me to bring a certain painter in,
And for that picture in her bedroom she would pose;Well after a while he was driving me mad,
As you could well understand,
Sitting in there, day after day,
With my wife in the palm of his hand…
It was –“Madam please do this and Madam please do that”,
You’ve never heard such display,
But he didn’t mind he was taking his time,
It was me that had to pay,
“Oh Madam I think we should take a walk in the woods,
You understand it’s the light”,
And did I mind, no, I was so kind when they,
Came back in the middle of the night,
And I swear I’ll take care of the painter, oh the painter…Well as you can see it was hard for me,
But something has to be done,
She only has eyes for him and his lies, and as for me,
Not a glance, not a single one;
My orders were severe and she disappeared,
It really was such a shame,
And when they told me she was dead I broke down and said,
“It’s that painter, it’s him, he’s to blame.”With his “Madam please do this and Madam please do that”,
You’ve never heard such display,
But he didn’t mind he was taking his time,
It was me that had to pay,
“Oh Madam I think we should take a walk in the woods,
You understand it’s the light”,
And did I mind, no, I was so kind when they
Came back in the middle of the night,
And I hope it’s the rope for the painter,
When he’s found, it’s hellbound for the painter,
I’ll get that painter…10 June, 2008 at 11:46 pm #139679
AnonymousSuzanna – Chris de Burgh
We sit together on the sofa
With the music way down low
waited so long for this moment
It’s hard to think it’s really so
The door is locked there’s no one home
They’ve all gone out we’re all alone
Su-sanna, Su-sanna
Su-sanna I’m crazy loving you
I put my arm aroud her shoulder
Run my fingers through her hair
It’s a dream I can’t believe it
It took so long it’s only fair
And then the phone begins to ring
And a strangers voice on the other end of the line
Says oh, wrong number, sorry to waste your time
And i think to myself,
Why now,
Why me,
Why…….
Su-sanna, su-sanna,
Su-sanna, I’m crazy loving you
Su-sanna, Su-sanna,
Su-sanna, I’m crazy loving you
Again I sit myself beside her
Try to take her hand in mine
The moment’s gone, the feeling’s over
She looks around to find the time
Then she says could we just sit and chat
And I think well that’s that
Susanna, Susannna,
Susanna, I’m crazy loving you
Still we sit here on the sofa
With the stereo on ten
The magic’s gone, it’s a disaster
There seems no point to start again
She says I think I’d better go
She says goodbye and I say… NO!
Su-sanna, Su-sanna,
Su-sanna, I’m crazy loving you
Su-sanna, Su-sanna,
Su-sanna, I’m crazy loving you
I’m so crazy loving you11 June, 2008 at 8:16 pm #139680the rose…… i know i posted this before but this very beautiful song is worth a second mention and this version is sung by the great janis joplin

Some say love
It is a river
That drowns the tender reed
Some say love
It is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love
It is a hunger
An endless aching need
I say love
It is a flower
And you-it’s only seedIt’s the heart
Afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It’s the dream
Afraid of waking
That never takes the chance
It’s the one
Who won’t be taken
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul
Afraid of dying
That never learns to liveWhen the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong
Just remember
In the winter
Far beneath the bitter snow
Lies the seed
That with the sun’s love
In the spring
Becomes the rose11 June, 2008 at 8:24 pm #139681summertime,,,,,,,, the one and only ella fitzgerald …. absolute class!!!!!!!

Summertime,
And the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’
And the cotton is highYour daddy’s rich
And your mamma’s good lookin’
So hush little baby
Don’t you cryOne of these mornings
You’re going to rise up singing
Then you’ll spread your wings
And you’ll take to the skyBut till that morning
There’s a’nothing can harm you
With daddy and mamma standing bySummertime,
And the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’
And the cotton is highYour daddy’s rich
And your mamma’s good lookin’
So hush little baby
Don’t you cry -
