    I didn’t tell them anything and i’m not remotely religious. What’s up, nappy rash being a sweetie again.

    God forbids eating meat without first draining the blood. Many JWs have needlessly died because the governing body considers blood transfusions to be “eating blood.”

    Clearly a transfusion is NOT eating and this has cost this young boy’s life

    That’s you giving your own view of scripture, that is.

    No thats me giving my own view of eating actually

    What right do you have to hand down your religious dogma?

    @pete wrote:

    They should feel their God gave man a brain, and man discovered blood transfusions to save life, which is supposed to be sacrosanct i thought

    Who are you to tell them what they should feel?

    What a very DEAD young man, what a very brainwashed young man and what a waste of a young life.

    What? Could he have done more work for ze Fatherland? He was a human being who decided to keep his faith until the very end. Who are you to say he’s not up in heaven right now with a Hemingway Daiquirí being serenaded by angels for his beautiful life? Why are you always so keen to be telling everyone what they can and can’t do with their own bodies?

    He was a 15 yr old boy brainwashed into believing a transfusion is the same as eating, basically you just decided to be an arse. As for what people do with their own bodies, it affects others, it causes sorrow and grief. Now you might have been put on this earth to be a selfish little twat but not everybody is.

    Who are you to say who’s brainwashed or not? It was his faith.

    It’s called an opinion based on the obvious definition of eating and the vast difference between that and sticking a needle in a vein.

    As we’ve seen on the boards before and we can observe in wider society, what one man decides scripture means can be at variance with what another man believes. Otherwise there wouldn’t be so many shades of the world’s religions. I’m no expert on Jovos, but I believe they hold their views sincerely. They’d be a pretty short lived religion if their impulse was to make sure their own flock were killed off senselessly.

    I agree with you entirely, but i still maintain this was a senseless loss of a young boys life because a transfusion is regarded as eating.
