Ban dots! And symbols in general and make it just alpha numerical’

happens to us all at some point …….amazes me what lengths people will go to to abuse another person
in my eyes if ya banned ya banned meaning as in the ip should be blocked. as for the abuse, well again in my eyes iggy them first, i know im a bit slow at times but wot are the forum hosts for? i know i only bob in now an again but sometimes its all beyond me, no abuse should be taken in any shape or form. On a clincal side i would say the frequent abusers are lacking something in there lives and not to mention being in need of therapy, and in need of getting a life other then in a chat room.

whether the name is registered or not seem kinda irrelevant after going in chat for 5 mins earlier, there are both reg’d and non reg’d people in their hackles up, sarcasm, abuse the atmosphere was awful. A load of pathetic comments people having a go just for the hell of it, complete madness.
And lucy because ip’s are rarely static now but dynamic meaning the networks change them systematically anyway u can’t ban an ip and stop people coming in they change their ip or wait until it changes anyway and pop straight back. Its virtually impossible nowadays to ban people, and guides and hosts can only do what they can with gags and bans, but as soon as they have a new one they are back again, often in different names. so its a lose lose sadly, the ignore facility is definately the way forward, either that or the little red cross :)sorry poli i aint techy that way,attention seeking i reckon it all is, the need to be in the middle all the time, some folk thrive on it as they do by giving out abuse. the name changing is all beyond me, is it because im not normal or normal wotever the case maybe, i see no need for them to change other then for the above
Still think if ppl have to register with an email address and login using that and a password it will deter abusers as you can just ban their email address.
Ban them a few times and they’ll soon get bored with having to set up a new email addy each time.
Having an email will not deter people having multiple identities… those are the dangerous people. The ones who create themselves friends to back themselves up and mislead others…scary people.

They’ll soon get bored. It may not stop them all but if it stops a few then it will be worth it.
I belong to a few forums where I have to keep typing in my email addy or username and password. It does deter the trolls and scary ppl.
