As we had and have several Americans at JC chat may I be the first to send to my British friends love, prays, respect and condolences in the loss of your Queen, grandmother, and a loved woman here in the U.S.A.
Many of u mourn and grieve with this loss as we join you. May your hearts heal, may your new King be resilient and represent his mother’s teaching a legacy he too will follow.
Change is difficult for all, and assume the 70 years of reign will be difficult to fill shoes. So hopefully all will be well and days move forward. Support important, time takes time.
Hugs to all. God bless the Queen who will be missed.
God bless your King.
Xx

9 September, 2022 at 8:24 pm #1145727Felt your King did a good job addressing those and the loss as well as his dedication, love and support of the people he will serve..I admired time he took to shake hands and look at the lovely flowers and support he appreciated there and around world.
As change is difficult perhaps these first small steps are a help for the people..need for the people and by the people.
9 September, 2022 at 11:16 pm #1145731Thank you Linda for those kind and thoughtful words. I, like the nation will grieve as the weight of our loss is fully realised over the weeks and months ahead.
It’s time like this when I am thankful for the continuity of our Monarchy and the unique way in which it interacts with our Parliamentary democracy, a form of government that has been honed over centuries with successes and failures. Our political leader, the Prime Minister is regularly held to account by the Monarch, Parliament, and the representatives of the people. Our nation has a unanimous trust in our electoral system and the transfer of political power has always been immediate and unquestioned. The people would never tolerate a fool in Number 10 and retribution can be harsh and swift. We are governed by the rule of law and not bound by a single inflexible constitution.
Again, thank you.
God save the King.
