I’m leaning towards a budgie
I could teach it the online lingo
FFS, LOL, BRB, feck of DOA etc
(didnt Norris in Corrie have a budgie and if so where is it now? Perhaps its been murdered or dehydrated under the studio lights)I have thought of goldfish but they arnt much company
but then again neither are men and i’ve kept a few of them as pets over the yearsI’m already known in my neighbourhood as the mad woman whos cat sits and waits outside the shop for her
On my gravestone it will probably read *well her cats loved her*RIP LIam
17 October, 2008 at 10:08 am #382601I forgot the canaries how could i forget those… lovely bit of singing but stfu i’m trying to listen to the telly
If you get a budgie dont get one from a pet shop go to a breeder get a young un, same applies to a cockatiel then at least you can finger tame them. I dont forget the time i exchanged 4 canaries for 10 cockatiels in the pet shop. Everything went fine, who needs gloves, till cockatiel no 7 decided to try and make his beak meet through the tip of my finger

17 October, 2008 at 3:42 pm #382603Pete’s correct in going to a good breeder. If your serious about it I can recommend some, I have a list of contacts up and down the country who breed birds in a mannor that the bird knows its a bird (spends the first few important weeks with their parents being reared) and are then caringly hand reared (making them a perfectly tame pet). Budgies and coc/kateels can become just as intelligent and talkative as their larger cousins, but you get all the fun in a small cute bundle.
My friends coc/kateel does the adamms family song and a little dance to it.
lemme know if you want any more info x
17 October, 2008 at 6:52 pm #382604Personally, I hate the idea of caged birds. Its not natural to keep a creature who yearns to fly locked behind bars with nothing for company but a plastic version of itself and a mirror. It makes me feel very sad when I see a bird imprisoned for life, when they should be free to fly where ever they please.

17 October, 2008 at 9:08 pm #382607Bon Bon, have you thought about getting a cat? If you fit a cat flap they can come and go during the day while youre at work, so that wont be a problem.

18 October, 2008 at 10:42 am #382609does it matter if caged or domesticated/free ?
all you need is that it mooch about, join your family, and come up with some decent quiz questions.
