My printer, after many years of faithful, if slow, service has given up the ghost. Can you recommend a good model to replace it? I do a lot of A4 text printing, but sometimes include colour photos and images on pages. Personal experience will be considered above hypothetical wizziness and I don’t want it to bankrupt me. My computer is reasonably new and runs on XP, if that makes any difference. Any ideas? :D

Oh, and nice and small would be cool, too.

i always go for epson, as they have never let me down, though i never really given any others a chance

just make sure you avoid lexmark, and you be fine

Do you know any specific models that might fit my bill, Soulie? Then I can shop around for prices.

Nice one, Pete. Good to see you knocking about again.

I recently bought the Epson R2000 – it may take 6 individual colour cartridges but the output is fantastic – the text (black and white printing is fast) and there is also a cd holder for printing from photo cds. You can buy cheap inkjets from Viking-Direct.com who do next day delivery

Thanks, PP. I’m afraid I’d already ordered and thus forgotten about this unusual foray into the world of technical threads. I went for a HP ten squillion or something or other, in the end. As Soulie said, I’m sure it’ll be fine. Thanks again for taking the time, though.
