I’ve just logged in after some days away and had a message from admin. My post has been removed and I was reminded about site rules further blah blah could lead to a permanent ban blah blah…..

I noticed that the thread had disappeared, and my thoughts immediately turned to the gestapo – ohm sorry, guardian angels who decide what is naughty and what is good.
I think Martin does need to say why that thread was banned, for everybody’s comfort.
If it’s to do with the guardian angels who are chat guides, and depending on what tickles their fancy and what angers them, then say. At least, we know then.
If there’s a shift in policy, then explain.
That particular thread had quite an abusive character who took a while to disappear, and I am ready to defend my elf against that abuse. But it was a lot more than abuse – it contained some interesting arguments on how to treat people with mental health problems in the room. It had some potential in it, and serious posts were appearing. Then it vanishes – as the proverbia saying goes wtf!!??
The chat rules depend on interpretation. If you say no sex can be discussed on this site, then how you interpret that can mean a lot or it can mean very little. There also needs to be a consistency of interpretation- what’s good for the goose needs to be good for the gander, too. A few people feel there are special rules here.
It’s fundamentally a question of how comfortable we feel writing on the boards. If we feel that what we wrtie can disappear suddenly, then we need to know why quite clearly.
If I’m not clear, then please say, but it is a serious issue, if you treat the people who come on your site seriously, that is. If you don’t, not much I can say or do apart from sneer.
I reported the post for being abusive. Thanks for listening Mr Site Owner. These people think they can type what they like, when they like, especially that Skeptical character who only types when it is whining, being vile, or accusing someone of being somebody else.

The fact is that admin sent me no complaint. I assume nobody else got a complaint either.
It was Kenty who received the complaint, and her thread which was withdrawn.
I for one hope that Ms K remains with the site, and my post remains valid.
This thread had some potentially good posts within it, and some important points were beginning to be made.

I never really understood what the argument on the other thread was about, but I find it kind of ironic that someone with ‘be free’ as a profile image is trying to dictate what is and isn’t allowed to be discussed.
