Well they never showed much in the way of a threat last night, but then neither did Rangers (which isn’t uncommon) so I don’t think there’s too much to fear for the second leg. Don’t think Weir is such a great loss, he wasn’t with it last night and Dailly is more than capable of coming in.

I reckon Novo and Cousin will start in Lisbon and if everyone else does their job, ie the boring stuff, it’s more than possible. Still a bit early to start dreaming, but I don’t think any Rangers fan expected to be in this position.

Think Rangers blew their chance bigtime, can’t see
them doing anything in 2nd leg sorry.

You could be right, as much as they needed an away goal I’d have felt better about the second leg if we had got one or two to take over there.

It’s hugely important not to concede at home in Europe. I think all the clubs in the other games conceded away goals.

Sporting arent any better than the team Rangers beat in the last round with an away goal. (cant remember who it was).

Bremen, one of the teams I thought were among the favourites. If Big Al hadn’t been on top form in the away leg (think we were leading 2-0 from the home tie) then they’d have went through as they looked different class on their home turf.

Wasnt thinking of Bremen. I forgot about them.

Was thinking about the Turkish/Greek side they beat earlier.

Panathinaikos? (or something similar  )

    Pretty amazing scoreline tonight. #-o

Actually this could help Celtic with all the fixtures piling up for Rangers. [-o<

Must admit, I was pleasantly surprised. Thought everyone played their part, Darcheville was full of running and energy (what a signing for a free transfer) and Whittaker was probably the biggest shock of the night :D

We’ll miss Fergie & Thomson in the next game (even though it was their own stupidity, especially Fergie) and I had hoped Bayern would get knocked out. Fatigue could be a problem, as you said BM, but I thought Rangers were jaded against Dundee United at the weekend – didn’t look it last night though. Don’t think Walter & Ally would allow it
