12 August, 2008 at 9:54 pm #362059Cuellar was bound to leave, I’m actually surprised that he was still there at the end of January. I heard after the Liverpool game that the reason he wasn’t played pre season was to prevent him picking up an injury and the reason he came off against Raith (if I remember rightly) was so that they could justify not playing him against Kaunas.

The premiership is the best league in Europe so you can hardly blame him for leaving.
12 August, 2008 at 10:59 pm #362061Yeah, it’s gauling for Old Firm fans to think that mid level Premiership teams can pick off their players, but with the TV money these clubs get, and the lure of playing in the Premiership then it’s to be expected.
The Old Firm aint the top level of the Food Chain with the TV Money we get, and the quality of the League we play in. Gotta start living with the reality of it.Rangers could be stronger for it if the money’s reinvested. They’re far more in need of creative players.

I’m not saying the Premiership is all good mate.
It aint. There’s a fair amount of shyte there if the truth be known.
And I’d rather watch a game down the park to be honest which is what i will be doing tomorrow night. :wink:12 August, 2008 at 11:26 pm #362064Aston Villa are a team on the up, I can see them challenging for the top 4 this year as a bit of a surprise package
I think recently too, they were the first prem team to field a team made up of british players only, i could be wrong though

No, I wouldn’t hold it against anyone from the SPL wanting to try their luck in the premiership or even the championship for that matter. That’s one helluva competitive league and that’s why I like the look of Bougherra (his performance against Falkirk was a rare plus point from the game). And like I said, I’m surprised he lasted a full season. It’s more the way the fans have been treated that bugs me, for instance the fact that an ‘injured’ player passes a medical. That backs up everything that I had heard about him being wrapped in cotton wool as they were expecting a bid.
Hopefully the money will be put to good use, but I think Smith is now in a lose-lose situation that he’ll find it difficult to get out of. The Rangers legend tag isn’t gonna save him from the backlash. He has to deliver.
