Ram an be upgraded on an existing machine. You dont need a Supercompter to surf the net. Only really need a high end machine if your a Gaming fan.

Yes and no
People are using there computers more and more now for different things.
Some need big hard drives for music, other run them has VCR/TV’s.
Its hard to know what to advise them to buy.
But I always look for the best deal under £600.
The different between and £300 computer and a £600 is simple, you can use it for longer.
Hight end computers start at £800

If you’ve never got to the point where the amount of RAM you have is a problem or a barrier then it really dosent need upgrading.
You could put 2 Gb of ram in her computer and it will still seem slow. The chip can’t handle it.
Total waste of money.
