don’t know if anyone saw on the news that there were 2 more marines killed in lashkar gah…well those two men were in my brother’s troop and his best friends :( if my brother hadn’t been called home for a court case that he’s a key witness in then he too could have been killed with them :(
i’m saddened that these men have lost their lives and am very sorry for their families and friends(my brother too who is absolutely devestated)…part of me though is so grateful that my brother was on leave and not out there..selfish though that may be

It isnt selfish for you to feel the way you do, most service families feel the same ways sweetheart. They feel sad for the families that it has happed to but glad it isnt their son or daughter.
Go hug your brother xxxxi would love to dawny but he flew back out again at 4am yesterday morning…am absolutely terrified now that i’ll get the same call that these two lads families did

Such tragic news, Kenty, but it is only natural to feel relief that the tragedy is someone else’s and not your own. It’s small consolation, but the fact that these poor lads are from your brother’s troop, means that in all probability, statistically it’s unlikely to happen to his troop again.
I’m sure that along with your own prayers, all the hopes and good wishes of everryone here, will keep your brother safe, until it’s time for him to return home hale and hearty, to you.
Meanwhile, as the very sensible Dawny says..you’ve got your gorgeous little baby to look after.
