Some Sailor Scep, sat in the doldrums with yearnings of home from years and years ago….. I wonder did he ever make it home into the arms of his love? Gosh I hope so.
Now I deleted my initial response to that. It’s funny, but I still get embarrassed about my liking for Renaissance music..people do tend to think cultural snob, so I shy away.
But, Mrs T, the strong Western wind is a powerful image, often used in poetry and folk music. Bob Dylan, in his song about his love whose vows are broken as she sails far away, for example. Until she loses interest, he wanted no present from abroad but her love, –
