Horrible old hag. Sooner she pops her clogs so i can have a day of in her honour the better. It would be typical if she died on the weekend.

Once she doesnt die in Ireland ill be happy, cant wait for her to go home tbh, sick of the idiots giving out about her visit, theres feck all coverage or maybe cause im not looking for it. But worse thing to happen would be her to be killed here – would set us back fecking decades.

I would consider buying an Ireland shirt if she did.

    The Queen ends Ireland trip

The coverage of the Queen’s visit has in fact been quite extensive here in Ireland.
    Irish Independent
    The Irish Times
    Irish Examiner
    RTE
    TV3
    Newstalk

All the above just a few examples of how popular and successful this visit was on so many levels. Television, radio and print media were in overdrive this week to mark the event.
Naturally, a barking minority of gobshytes tried to pour scorn and ill will on this wonderful occasion. What little and ineffectual noise they made in attempting to disrupt not only failed embarrassingly, but also went a long way in distancing their idiotic ways even further from the vast majority of Irish people. So we thank these ignorant dinosaurs for that.

    An overwhelming success.
Almost surreal in it’s historic signficance.

Who would have thought in the darkest days of Anglo Irish relations this speech could ever happen?

The Queen’s Speech In Dublin Castle

The fact that Foreign Secretary William Hague and Prime Minister David Cameron joined the Queen is hugely important.. along with a tinge of sadness in that one of the primary architects of peaceful accord on these islands, former Taoiseach Garrett Fitzgerald, died yesterday.
    His dream became a reality.

Current Taoiseach Enda Kenny said today..

“..It sends out a message that Ireland’s grown up, and that Elizabeth II, Queen of England came here as a very welcome visitor, and that our people really showed this week that we truly are the land of one hundred thousand welcomes.”

As President Obama will find out come monday :)

I’m not a monarchist but I have to say I admire the Queen for making the visit to Ireland and the whole tone of the visit was just right. It seems that she was generally well received and it was quite a brave thing to do.

Hard-line Irish republicans were angered by the visit, but I imagine that hard-line Ulster loyalists would have been too – seeing it as a sell-out. But for the vast majority of peaceful people, the visit was a good thing and I found it quite moving, being of part-Irish ancestry myself.
