    I;m seriously wondering if it is/was just a cornish/devon word now and not a real one, it’s on the tip of my tongue but it just wont roll off it but if i get it i’ll post it then u can all bash me abt the head :D

    sorry thats all my dictionary gives. do you think it was a slang name… you know like a builders caddy, chippy those sorts of words that are now commonplace?

    U don’t learn a trade “prior” to an apprenticeship. Learning a trade IS an apprenticeship.
