[No Emma, it teaches us how to put our lives on the line, with as minimal a risk as possible, to ensure those who need the emergency services will receive some form of assistance, however limited.
Can you give us the basic teachings you recieved?

Anything that is in public domain is for public consumption- anything else stays confidential. I would point out that training doesn’t always mean physical- training and preparedness can take many other forms (google “emergency planning” n see what ya get)-
5 February, 2007 at 10:40 pm #258981Frantic woman on Talksport right now telling us the police have cordened off a street in Liverpool. She describes it as a police state scenario, martial law.

No, i meant, what medical training have you recieved that you dont normally get, to do with a bird flu disaster? SPELL IT OUT?

Again Emma, you jump to a conclusion hun- training for bird flu doesn’t just include medical training- it includes patient management, patient flow, emergency planning, support services etc etc.
I have never said I am medically trained in anything (can’t stand the sight of blood) :D
Why does the police cordoning off a street suggest we live in a police state- Anyone remember the chap in Lincoln about 15 years ago who had his face ripped off by 2 american pitbulls? That was my street (used to see the dogs everyday)- the police cordoned the whole street off and we had armed response walking up and down with automatic MG’s- why does that make us a police state? It seems common sense to me

Are these things you had never trained for before? Can you explain what they mean a bit more, thanks.
6 February, 2007 at 8:38 pm #258984Anyone see the programme on monday night 8pm C4?
Focused on 3 muslim men under house arrest. Found not guilty of crimes against the general public terror wise, they cannot leave their house for approximately 15 hours a day. Can only travel upto 1 mile from their home, amazingly one of them can use 3 tube stations.
Point is, the government see them as a “threat”, whether they are or not, the government dont know.
Police state.
7 February, 2007 at 7:01 pm #258985Its just been reported on ITV news, that French special forces had bin laden in sight, less than 400 yards, they could’ve gained audio of him, they could’ve killed him, but when asking the Americans for an all clear to do so, no reply for 2 hours.
If they had killed him, it would’ve dented alqeada severly, and it would’ve meant the war on “terror” would be almost won.
Question, was he denied death to keep the war on “terror” alive?
Are we still being “protected”, keeping bin laden alive, excuse for a police state?
Is our REAL enemy our own government?
We can ban smoking, but we cannot ban driking. Drinking causes us to be harmfull, an excuse to control us? 24 hour drinking laws…
17 February, 2007 at 8:23 am #258986The French don’t even have a regular force, nevermind a special force. So obviously, the above report is false.
17 February, 2007 at 11:50 am #258987FORMER new labour funder Neil Tennant, singer of the pet shop boys, has written a song called “integral”, about the fear of a police state.
If you’ve done nothing wrong, You’ve got nothing to fear
If you’ve something to hide, You shouldn’t even be hereLong live us, The persuaded we, Integral, Collectively
To the whole project, It’s brand new, Conceived solely, To protect youOne world
One reason
Unchanging
One seasonIf you’ve done nothing wrong, You’ve got nothing to fear
If you’ve something to hide, You shouldn’t even be here
You’ve had your chance, Now we’ve got the mandate
If you’ve changed your mind, I’m afraid it’s too lateWe’re concerned, You’re a threat
You’re not integral, To the project !!Sterile !!
Immaculate !!
Rational !!
Perfect !!Everyone has, Their own number, In the system that, We operate under
We’re moving to, A situation, Where your lives exist, As informationOne world, One life, One chance, One reason
All under, One sky, Unchanging, One seasonIf you’ve done nothing wrong, You’ve got nothing to fear
If you’ve something to hide, You shouldn’t even be here
You’ve had your chance, Now we’ve got the mandate
If you’ve changed your mind, I’m afraid it’s too lateWe’re concerned, You’re a threat
You’re not integral, To the projectSterile..
Immaculate..
Rational..
Perfect..The lefty Eurythmics sang “1984” (the George Orwell nightmare), gay lefties now sing “integral” (fear of the police state).
In a tv interview, Neil Tennant said he voted Lib Dems in 2005, after years of financially supporting new labour, because they got too close to bush and the fear of control.
IF it happens, it will happen slowly, we’ll be sucked into it. I’d say were about 5 – 10% there. When it gets to 30%, it will start becoming a very hard thing to stop. Even a sophisticated revolution would see millions die. Start distancing yourself from new labour and the conservatives, we HAVE to bring their power to control us, down.
