don’t like put down lines, don’t think they are necessary when a mere polite dismissal will do.

I don’t have the need for a put down line…a polite dismissal, then if that’s ignored I just give them “that look”…there’s no need for a put down line after that.

Sometimes a put down line is needed when a polite dismissal has failed.

I’m sure some of the women in here have had “an admirer” who doesn’t take no for and answer and where the only way he’ll get the message is with a stinging one line put down.

“hey, stand still, there’s a fly on your nose. Wait a mo and I’ll get rid of it for you”

most put-downs depend on an accurate assessment of the victim’s character.

but the put-downs on here are very rarely effective if met in the right manner. As they’re not usually met in such a way, they become a repetitive and dreary round of trading stupid insults.

I’m still waiting for Put-Down Wimbledon, with the put-down being popped from one player to the other and back again, seeing how long it is before it touches the ground.
