What life has taught me
I would like to share with
Those who want to learn…Until the philosophy which hold one race
Superior and another inferior
Is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned
Everywhere is war, me say warThat until there are no longer first class
And second class citizens of any nation
Until the colour of a man’s skin
Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes
Me say warThat until the basic human rights are equally
Guaranteed to all, without regard to race
Dis a warThat until that day
The dream of lasting peace, world citizenship
Rule of international morality
Will remain in but a fleeting illusion
To be persued, but never attained
Now everywhere is war, warAnd until the ignoble and unhappy regimes
that hold our brothers in Angola, in Mozambique,
South Africa sub-human bondage
Have been toppled, utterly destroyed
Well, everywhere is war, me say warWar in the east, war in the west
War up north, war down south
War, war, rumours of warAnd until that day, the African continent
Will not know peace, we Africans will fight
We find it necessary and we know we shall win
As we are confident in the victoryOf good over evil, good over evil, good over evil
Good over evil, good over evil, good over evil25 April, 2008 at 6:02 pm #328724more marley
Man to man is so unjust, children
You don’t know who to trust
Your worst enemy could be your best friend
And your best friend your worst enemySome will eat and drink with you
Then behind them su-su ‘pon you
Only your friend know your secrets
So only he could reveal it
And who the cap fit, let them wear it [repeat]27 April, 2008 at 9:01 pm #328725conquering lion style . . .
4 May, 2008 at 2:15 pm #328726No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry.Said – said – said: I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in trenchtown,
Oba – obaserving the ypocrites
As they would mingle with the good people we meet.
Good friends we have, oh, good friends weve lost
Along the way.
In this great future, you cant forget your past;
So dry your tears, I seh.No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry.
ere, little darlin, dont shed no tears:
No, woman, no cry.Said – said – said: I remember when-a we used to sit
In the government yard in trenchtown.
And then georgie would make the fire lights,
As it was logwood burnin through the nights.
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge,
Of which Ill share with you;
My feet is my only carriage,
So Ive got to push on through.
But while Im gone, I mean:
Everythings gonna be all right!
Everythings gonna be all right!
Everythings gonna be all right!
Everythings gonna be all right!
I said, everythings gonna be all right-a!
Everythings gonna be all right!
Everythings gonna be all right, now!
Everythings gonna be all right!So, woman, no cry;
No – no, woman – woman, no cry.
Woman, little sister, dont shed no tears;
No, woman, no cry.I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in trenchtown.
And then georgie would make the fire lights,
As it was logwood burnin through the nights.
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge,
Of which Ill share with you;
My feet is my only carriage,
So Ive got to push on through.
But while Im gone:No, woman, no cry;
No, woman, no cry.
Woman, little darlin, say dont shed no tears;
No, woman, no cry.Eh! (little darlin, dont shed no tears!
No, woman, no cry.
Little sister, dont shed no tears!
No, woman, no cry.)18 June, 2008 at 9:59 pm #328727” 54-46 Thats My Number “……..the hugely talented Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert, after forming the Maytals, sang a sanctified type of ska that could only have had its origins in a Baptist church. His fiery sound and soul-style ballads were to make the Maytals the premier vocal group of the ska years.
A major force in the history of Jamaican music………..
