Does anyone here have an issue with procrastination? I have been really struggling with it.. I don’t know how to handle something I have never struggled with in my life.

14 November, 2016 at 11:33 pm #1009051very much so!
all my life!!
Sometimes it overwhelms me, and I give up, riding the wave where it takes me.
But sometimes, I decide I can’t do waste my life like this; I have to stop, face the blank wall for however long it takes, go deep inside, gather my strength and my energy until the determination to complete something is there.
That is not often, but I do feel real when I decide to do that..

15 November, 2016 at 6:03 am #1009108procrastination is a habit as well as detrimental to our lives. now if only I had done what I set out to do the other week..
try setting oneself a task when we aware we putting things off. then the task being to do that and one other chore before relaxing. with practise we can break the chain and begin to do things a they become due rather than putting them aside until..
15 November, 2016 at 6:26 am #1009121Do you guys find that there is a specific trigger that could make this happen more often? I am not sure if it’s fear of failure or frustration or what.
I DO try to do things.. and yet, they do not happen because of interruptions and what not.You are right, it can be downright frustrating — or telling, too. It certainly does take determination to finish, right?
Have you lads and lasses struggled with it your whole lives? Does it get worse or better for you with age?
Funny thing for me is it started with one particular area of my life.. and has been moving to others. Perhaps it’s apathy or being overwhelmed. Not sure.
I will try to make myself — maybe setting alarms would help.
And thanks for the laugh, my friends. Laughs and tips – the best things!!! :D
Keep sharing your stories and ideas – jokes, too! :D Maybe it will inspire me to get my arse moving! :D1 member liked this post.

In fact, my mother calls me ‘last minute Martin’.

Chowa,
I find the trigger is the unhappiness over not doing anything. That has to grow to a particular point where I have to do something.
The main thing which held me up was that I was so busy, especially when I had a growing family. Kids take up all your time.
What I had to do was to create a time for myself where I could brood on what needed to be done That quiet time was where I gatehrred energy and prioritised what was needed, then planned the time required. Then I stuck to it.

Yeah, that really does seem to help me, too. But I also feel quite a bit of anxiety coming up to and working through the deadline.
I’ve always been very confident on what I can and can not do and rarely anxious about capabilities. But lately, with the procrastination, I make things that should be mediocre a little more large.
Then, again, I am working my way out of a “last minute” nickname myself.. ;) haha. Thanks for sharing ;)

Yeah, that sounds a lit more in depth to what Martin was saying, and I do find this to be what I have been experiencing lately.
Yeah, I have only since your post realized that quiet time is something to be relished.. and when you have rising deadlines in work and/or school.. the best thing you can do is find that quiet time at NON TIRED times. :)
Excellent advise. You are right. This really helps me! Thanks for sharing! :)
I’m also going to be taking a few months off of school to relax and minimize my stress as I work through this procrastination thing.
