    can anyone tell me why when I play a video from any site ie youtube the video keeps stopping and starting, I use vista and have 1.5gig of ram in my laptop, also installed is the latest version of adobe flash player, my other laptop does not do this and it has lower specs than this one.

    You Tube is always buffering videos . . also if you click on another tab or anything else whilst playing the vid it will stop and start 8)

    Maybe it’s how ya comp is set up.. swap files and all that..

    (did that sound all techy and geeky cause i dont really know what it means)

    It is partly a function of your ‘connection speed’ at the time you’re playing the video and partly to do with YouTube ‘buffering’ the video – i.e. sending it down the pipe to you in ‘chunks’

    If the ‘chunks’ don’t get down the pipe to your computer fast enough, then the video player will play all the file it has downloaded at that point and then stop and wait for the next ‘chunk’ to be available for playing.

    This usually happens when a number of other customers (of your ISP) in your area are all using the internet at the same time and therefore there is only a limited amount of bandwidth available for each of you to use.
