The difference is that if some1 is smoking or drinking, fugging up their lungs and livers then its their lungs and livers to waste.
I think its a completely different thing if some1 has a transplant and recieves some1 else’s organs. I would say it becomes their duty then to protect those organs that were given to them instead of some1 else.
If George Best survives this he’ll drink himself and his new liver into oblivion within a few years anyways.28 October, 2005 at 5:49 am #158875don’t you think he realises what he is doing

so he became addicted to something and it has taken its toll on him, and because he isnt as strong willed as alot of people and wasnt able to kick the addiction, you all damn him to die?
lots of people get given second chances in life not talking just transplants but many things, alot mess it up they dont all deserve to die
and as tommy said loads on here go on about how much they have drunk and they where drunk this night and the other night blah blah blah, do they deserve to die?
and dont say its in moderation look at some posts youl see that getting off your head 3 nights a week isnt moderate
Like i said i dont think he deserves to die. He is a footballing great and always will be. I also dont drink enough maybe 1 bottle of wine a month so dont apply to me. But i do think addiction start somewhere but acoholics are the same as druggies they start all by themsleves addictions are things YOU start yourself, i do have sympathy for him i really do and he had a 2nd chance but he still drank, ok maybe he hasnt for a small while now and this time in hospital is due to illness but all started from one thing :(

28 October, 2005 at 8:51 am #158879I have my opinions on how GB has treated his new liver but then on the other hand I do understand what Di is saying. It’s sometimes something thats stronger than you, no matter how hard you try.
I see though that the tabloids are now attacking his son Callum, for going out and having a good time. I would defy!! anyone, who, having been under such pressure to have to let off a little steam. This week!! I have known that kind of pressure and I think that the tabloids and anyone else for that matter, should be a little more understanding of the situation of Callum Best seeing his dad in this awful state!!!

Like being overweight they are seen as greedy but no its a legal addiction there are so many taboos with addiction but fact is addictions are addictions legal or not all get hooked the same way.
