I think people are a lot more touchy in life than they were years ago tom, thats been dragged on to the internet too.Its very difficult to express yourself sometimes in words and people can easily take things the wrong way.Even the keyboard warriors on here are not much good nowadays, they have little to offer in abuse and really should go back to keyboard warrior college to learn more skills.

Back then, there was a clear distinction between genuine ‘trolls’, and just plain bitter idiots.

Now the word ‘troll’ is thrown around at anyone or anything that disagrees with anyone or anything.

Its just lost its fun and banter.

We used to have a genuine laugh signing up and throwing sh*t at each other, we weren’t trying to hurt or upset anyone, it was just.. playing! And we’d wait in anticipation for either them or one of their sockpuppets to pop up and throw something back at us. We’d bounce off each other with silver tongued witty quips.

Now the best you can hope for is “oh f off you c i’ll slit your throat” and that’s.. it. No banter, no wit, no intentions of playing or having a laugh, it’s just pure bitter bile, and the thing that’s really sad about it – is it isn’t even offensive, it’s just boring! Rather than replying to it I’m more than likely just to ignore it because there’s just no entertainment value in there at all.

Well, that and I’ve just gotten older :lol: lost my touch in my age :lol:

I don’t put anyone on ignore unless they truly deserve it, and to be honest the quality of trolls around these days is pitiful. They can’t even bloody insult you properly these days so they’re hardly offensive, they don’t have the wit or the brains to be offensive any more, just the usual generic over-used boring mono-tone lines with absolutely no timing or imp-actual delivery.

My theory is that years ago the post of ‘the troll’ attracted intelligent, witty people with a damn good sense of humour who wanted to be a little creative and pass some time, they took chat rooms very light-heartedly.

Today it seems only dim-witted uneducated gormless twits who spend their life on the Internet want to be a troll.

I guess that’s why you don’t get any good trolls now, hardly fun competition when everyone else in the chat room has an IQ level akin to a slug.

..And those of us who were good (Anc ;) are just too old now and had our fun.

Some trolls would disagree with me of course, but that just proves how un-educated and dim-witted they are if they think they’re good LOL.

I just always thought that you were pure and untainted……..
