its the craze these days, a lot of companys, more so in transport are employing polish people for £5 an hour
just wanting to know, how many, if any have you got at your place of work? we have 6 polish workers now, and 4 english workers have recently been sacked, or made life difficult to make way for them, saving my boss at least £500 a week, and getting more work out of them
1 March, 2006 at 6:55 pm #200281To be honest souile pitty my place dont take people that will work on
Instead of the lazy f00kers they have who get paid in my eyes far to much
Bet they work harder than the people who left as well
1 March, 2006 at 7:03 pm #200282Nothing against the Polish people at my place mate, a nice bunch of chaps they are, going around later to play them at poker, so hopefully take some of their hard earned cash of them
1 March, 2006 at 7:10 pm #200283I have nothing against Polish people, but company bosses who do that are greedy traitors. Its quite similar to companys like Norwich union taking jobs off British people and giving them to Calcutta.
I believe this practise should be antisocial and hopefully people like this boss you speak of, have no mates. All humans are equal of course, but as a British person, i believe we should put British people first.
When you see your boss, tell him i said he is a fwkin wnker :D
1 March, 2006 at 8:56 pm #200284where the lads who come into my local work the whole entire nightshift is made up of a full Polish work force… with their Interpreters on hand… as no-one will work this shift because of the shyte wages…

1 March, 2006 at 9:38 pm #200286We ain’t got one Polish member of staff…..
1 March, 2006 at 10:52 pm #200287I must say i am suprised to see you Tommy saying its ok to get rid of British workers to replace with Polish workers. :o
1 March, 2006 at 11:08 pm #200288they are getting paid £5 an hour, but accomdation is being paid for by my boss
and like spotlike said, we went playing poker with a few of them tonight, really good people, who work 7 days a week, £400 a week is a very big amount of money to them, so they are willing to work
1 March, 2006 at 11:13 pm #200289He never said that – what he said was that the Polish workers deserve equal rights. Like it or not, we are in Europe now (freedom of movement etc) and these Polish people are entitled to seek work here just as Brits can go and live and work in Poland.
Three quick points: 1) Brits would find cost of living much cheaper in Poland and would probably move there if they had enough stuff in the shops to keep them happy – if we Brits had any transferable skills of course… 2) Poles may think that £5.05 is a good wage otherwise they might not have come here (lots of Indian etc workers manage to send money home despite being paid poor rates) and 3) transport companies are faced with ever-increasing fuel costs etc – lowering wages costs by £500 a week might mean the business can remain competitive and the remainder of the (British) workforce don’t lose their jobs (if the owner starts driving around in a Bentley with the plate POL 1, then I take that last point back).
Anyway, Polish lorry drivers are better than British ones.
