I remember my dad read my diary once, it wasnt a pleasant time. Just caused the utmost embarassment to us all.

Snap, Shazza. I remember refusing to come home, when my mum found and read my diary, after she made it clear that I was to face the wrath of my father. Jeez, she even found my stash of erotic literature and my battery operated instrument of torture/pleasure.
However, my sister got me off the hook by attempting suicide the same day, so I never did get the showdown. :roll:14 July, 2008 at 9:46 pm #354360oh ffs essy, you do make me laugh.
Oh dear I hope your poor sister wasnt successful? :oops:15 July, 2008 at 12:04 am #354361@slayer wrote:

Whatever happened to integrity in a public office
I work for the NHS, I COULD look at patient records of people I know- ailments, medical history etc
I don’t – why? Cos its plain and simple wrong!
Human nature doesnt come into it- standards of right and wrong do!

17 July, 2008 at 2:34 am #354365That’s what the Data Protection Act is here to protect (both you and I) – it’s implementation is there for a reason.
If officers were indeed sacked for its misuse, then it was wholly justified.
19 July, 2008 at 6:59 am #354366I agree with Sian
An ex neighbour of mines daughter once worked for the Benefits Office.
She abused her position, by looking into the files of a person, to find information to then hand to another freind who was in some kind of dispute with her.
She was found out and suspended. She spent a year on suspension while the entire matter was investigated, on full pay no less!! and was then dismissed. The complaint having been found. Her mother, my neighbour, complained about this, said that nothing had happened because of what she’d done so it should have been left.
The investigations found the allegations true and she was dismissed from her job. She should have thought herself lucky, that in true style, the benefits office took an entire year to investigate it, for which time she received full pay!!
