4 October, 2008 at 10:14 am #306796the daytime now merges into night
with all the shadows
the fears
the tears
merging into one
no punctuation
no full stops
just once in a while
a small hyphen appears
then its back to reality
alone with your tears4 October, 2008 at 7:44 pm #306797………..
5 October, 2008 at 3:43 pm #306798I played a link tobulldog put up and there was an old record player with vinyl spinning, and it reminded me of something I wrote a while ago now. Sorry if you’ve read this one before.
Volition
Always other people’s choices for as long as I can remember.
Their favourite melodies spinning beneath diamond
Not mine.
Never mine.
But music played in my mind, and I danced and sang and dreamed
In rhythm and time.
Occasional glimpses of that perfect sound that catches the throat
And burns the eyes.
Then an interval of great joy where the choices could be mine.
I revelled in that blissful short-lived freedom and remember it still.
Then the drought began again.
Slowly at first, but gathering pace.
A plethora of choices never mine.
And with a kind of death, the desire to listen left me.
…….Now?
A gift of soft and loud, and almost without realising it,
I discovered something, music had been there at my fingertips all the time.
And with the strength to choose within my grasp
I am learning to listen
All over again.©

6 October, 2008 at 7:59 pm #306801I watch you so frail
and i try not to let you see
the pain i feel
when you say to me
I love you and please
I dont know what I would do
without you
I search your face
I look into your eyes
and I see
I see the girl you once were
I hear you when you feel sad
‘I used to dance’ you said yesterday
and i looked, I saw your memories
Yes you may not dance
physically any more
but nana I love you
and I know that your’e
feeling bad bout the small things you can’t do
but it comes to us all
and you once
looked after us but
i dont do it out of duty
i do it because i want to
I do it out of love
I see your little girl
dancing there
and for me nana
you will always dance
