the midnight hour
has come upon us so fast
and thus I bid thee adieu
and a farewell
(though I hope it won’t last)20 June, 2008 at 11:37 pm #306525night forget xx
21 June, 2008 at 3:11 am #306526Oh, dear me, the mill’s gaen fast,
The puir wee shifters canna get a rest.
Shiftin’ bobbins, coorse and fine,
They fairly mak’ ye work for your ten and nine.Oh, dear me, I wish the day was done,
Rinnin’ up and doon the Pass is no’ nae fun;
Shiftin’, piecin’, spinnin’ warp weft and twine,
Tae feed and cled my bairnie affen ten and nine.Oh, dear me, the warld’s ill divided,
Them that work the hardest are aye wi’ least provided,
But I maun bide contented, dark days or fine,
There’s no much pleasure living affen ten and nine.Mary Brooksbank !

21 June, 2008 at 12:46 pm #306528Life, in retrospect,
is quite distinctly odd
we spend all our time
on mortal mother earth
searching for GodFor me this is
doubly perplexing,
for the question of faith
is one I find vexingIf there is a God
then what would that mean?
would he and the Devil
think humanity obsceneLife’s too short
for such logic
as our lives play out
and we are forced to watch it
the greatest and only show on EarthThe good times
The bad times
and all that lies inbetween.
Do they count for nought
in our final parting scene?21 June, 2008 at 11:24 pm #306529the eleventh hour
stikes at ground zero
midnight’s curse holds power
as humanity calls for a heroyet none answer
this summons that calls to arms,
against a hollow man, the necromancer
as he weaves his shaded charmsMammon, Apollyon,
Beelzebub and Abaddon.
The Adversary abounds
becoming as a legion
The world is as their hunting grounds
no haven for we heathenFaustus laughs
appreciating the irony
that has come to pass
his joke at the expense
of humanity‘Damnation found
when Salvation was sought,
a task only achievable by humans
of course’22 June, 2008 at 10:10 am #306530forget me not
but why
why should you remember me
is it because
i breezed into your lives on warm breeze
one cold winters day
or is it because
this life so fleeting
we need to
just pause
and remember
those precious souls
who crossed our paths
for a reason as yet
unknown22 June, 2008 at 10:22 am #306531I wish that I
could say that
I know who you are
but if I were to say that
I’d know from the truth
it would be farI’m sorry if I remind you
of someone you sorely miss
someone you might once have loved
and with which you would trystI’m sorry but I’m not that man
about whom you reminisce
but your friendship is still dear to me
and that is all there is22 June, 2008 at 10:32 am #306532lol , its only your style of writing that reminds me of someone lol, no one i miss in particular lol xxx
22 June, 2008 at 10:34 am #306533okay then but now I’m curious, who do I remind you of?
