There are signs on the major motorways like the M1 and A1(M) which say The North. I am not sure where that changes but it would be some indictation where the North did actually start! Anyone got an idea? Can’t be as far south as the Watford Gap could it?

In fact ”the North” starts at Watford (in Hertfordshire for the ignorant Northern gits).

This is because all signs in London that point northwards clearly say ”Watford and the North”. Surely everybody knows that !!!

I have pigeons around my flat but the numbers have gone down recently – commando attacks by seagulls I think.

My daughter has named one that was left behind – she calls it Martin – don’t ask me why, she’s as mad as the rest of the family! Anyway, trying to watch TV with Martin cooing down the chimney and banging on the window is not easy! but, much as I don’t like pigeons on the whole, I do have a soft spot for him.
