and are we supposed to be impressed?
Are you going to ask that of everyone who posts a pic?
The thread title says what it is, Terry posted a pic that he took, whether you’re impressed or not is up to you.@battywoman wrote:
Wonder if he actually asked the players in question if he could post their pics in a chatroom!!!
The photo was taken in a public place and was not an invasion of privacy, ergo no permission needed.
I saw the photo before it was taken down but wasn’t signed in to comment. Having spent time trying to get a decent sports action pic for an assignment, I know how difficult it is and that it’s down to skill and luck – the skill to be able to take the photo in focus, the luck of being in the right place at the right time. In the old days of film we would sit with our SLR cameras, autowinds, film packs (can’t remember what they were called but they held mega rolls of film) and shoot off reels and reels of photos, hoping the batteries would last and that we wouldn’t be changing the film roll at the crucial moment that a photo opportunity presented itself! Back to the darkroom only to find that out of hundreds of frames we might, just possibly, have one photo that was good enough to be printed let alone shown! Since then I’ve had the greatest admiration for anyone who can take a decent sports pic.
Terry would you put the pic back up please?

Avebury, not technically brilliant, just a snap taken on a mobile phone. Taken from up on the bank overlooking the stones, I love this pic simply for the memories it brings back of a very special day with a very special person. :D(and no, I didn’t get permission from the people in the pic to put it up on a message board)

It was a Sunday morning and I had my camera with me and got quite a few photographs from the match. This particular one I converted into a huge poster for the lad in the yellow shirt. He was happy to say the least when I let him have the poster for free.

What I like about this one is the dynamics between the two players and that only one of them has a foot on the ground. And that’s only his toe.

Absolutely.
Practice makes perfect and if you’re keen enough (as I was back then) and put in the effort you will get results.
I hooked up with a semi-professional football team off the back of these Sunday league matches and my photos were used on the front cover of their programme. It was great to see my photos in print (as you can imagine).
