peter hain has resigned at last, after effectiveley being cought shifting money from the public purse to his own personal power push.over a hundred thousand pounds ? was removed from a think tank account belonging to the central government office, and put into mr hains personal campaign for the deputy leadership. not even the donators knew where their money was going. not only has he continually denied knowing anything about this laughable “mistake” he actually expect us to believe that he didnt know, quite a sizeable chunk of that money came from his personal friend. a south african businessman, who is a staunch apartheid supporter. and is currently under investigation for defrauding the nhs of millions of pounds. !!!!
i cant believe that this arrogant blatant power mad idiot has been allowed to hang on for so long.
it became clear to me two weeks ago he was finished, when gordon brown said he had the upmost respect for mr hain, and supported him in his campaign. thats always the death knell for mps.
i hope the police lock him and all of his cronies up. the snouts have been caught in the farmhouse big time this time.. ha ha ha good riddance mr hain, and i hope you take the rest of em with you.
im not sure what the criteria has to be, but sureley there is grounds for a vote of no confidence ? id be grateful if anone could enlighten me on that score. mr hain has resigned to clear his name.. what a laugh that is. what next mr hain a trip home to south africa and a bit of target practice on the family farm.?UNBELIEVABLE24 January, 2008 at 4:49 pm #306324Yet another New Labour MP caught with their trotters in the trough eh???

“Hain was born to South African parents who were anti-apartheid activists in the South African Liberal Party, for which they were made “banned persons”, briefly jailed, and prevented from working.”
“When Hain was 10, he was awoken in the early hours by police officers searching his bedroom for ‘incriminating documents’. As a result of police harrassment, Hain’s father was unable to continue his work as an architect, and the family decided to leave for the United Kingdom in April 1966.”
“The same year, he was a founder of the Anti-Nazi League and he remains a prominent supporter of Unite Against Fascism today.”
Now, I know politicians have no morals, but are you surely suggesting that;
a) He would accept money from a ‘staunch supporter of apartheid’ and,
b) a ‘staunch apartheid supporter’ would want to be seen to be helping someone from the other end of the scale?Love to know where you got that information from.
24 January, 2008 at 8:24 pm #306326He can spend more time on his sunbed.
24 January, 2008 at 8:55 pm #306327is he the one who presents Top Gear ?

quite simple sky news several times yesterday, it was also on itv lunchtime news and im sure if you look around its still there. if mr hain is such a staunch supporter of anti apartheid how come he shot to death a young black man who was on his fathers property, and then lied in court, and then left south africa to come here to start his search for power. im only repeating things i have seen and heard, i wouldnt kn ow about them otherwise.. the mans bin caught with his pants down.. admit it .. he isnt a white knight here to rescue us from the bad guy.. he is the bad guy here to take from us as much as he can get away with. god knows where wed be if he ever got the pms job.
25 January, 2008 at 11:46 am #306329Interesting comments from Sword and waspish. However, plastered all over the press today is the revelation that at least £10,000 was donated to Peter Hain by Isaac Kaye, a businessman with links to the National Party of South Africa – which supported Apartheid.
Slightly at odds with Peter Hain’s claim to fame as an ardent and avowed opponent of Apartheid you might think.
This money (as well as many many thousands from other undisclosed sources) was donated via a so-called ”think tank” called the Progressive Policies Forum (PPF) that seems to exist in name only. It would appear that the only thing the PPF has ever done since it was set up in December 2006, is to receive ‘donations’ from anonymous people and pass them on to Peter Hain.
The real surprise is how he managed to hang onto his job as long as he did, before being ingominiously disposed of.
25 January, 2008 at 12:32 pm #306330I have nothing to ‘admit’ waspish, I already stated that I realise politicians have no scruples, I just didn’t realise how low they would stoop I guess (except George Dubya, which is a given).
26 January, 2008 at 12:35 am #306331Most people say hain the pain is a peadophile.
