I plan to answer some of these later this week.

For those who are taking this discussion as a genuine discussion, my apologies for breaking it off on 18th December, but the 19th is a special day in my family, and has been all my life, so I  cleared the decks in preparation. Others won’t take that reason seriously, so no apology for them.

Given the alarming turn the Brexit blunder is all but certain to take next week, there is a timely programme on C4 at 9pm this evening, called Brexit: The Uncivil War (I think that’s the title), with Sherlock Holmes aka Benedict Cumberbatch. Supposed to be witty as well as informative. HBO are co-producing it, and they are good.

While the racist smears of the Leave campaign are brought out (eg absolute lies about a flood of Turks about to descend on the UK ), and the totally inept bankruptcy of the Remain campaign with their exaggerations (I hope) of the economic consequences of leaving is also highlighted, there is one drawback. The legal situation means that they have to concentrate on the Dominic Cummings and the distinct possibility that Russian money was illegally used to finance the Arron Banks/Farage section of the Leavers is untouched.

Nearly 79% of JCers who have voted want no deal.

    haha.

Why are the Leavers so scared of a second referendum? You should be able to win it hands down, and a vote like that would indicate a national unity which would stand the UK in good stead in negotiating with the EU :-)

Or maybe JC isn’t a reflection of the country??

As a “leaver” im not “scared” of a second referendum. I just dont see the point. We had a vote, the result was to leave. Should we keep having referendums until the vote changes?

While i think that many of us voted without knowing all the facts i dont think it changes how we would vote necessarily. Id still vote to leave.

People are tired of working their behinds off just to survive. If youre rich, no worries. On benefits, no worries (and yes, i know thats a sweeping statement. It doesnt apply to all) but there are an awful lot of people that graft away to merely survive.

    I want change…

    Change is crucial.

The threats to us all in transport, health education as well as to those who work their backsides off just to survive all point to this.

We want change for the better, though, not a change whihc will make condtioons worse, or even much, much worse.

Emily Thornberry, part of the Labour leadership,  was making this clear on the tv a couple of hours ago. May’s plan for changes in the NHS is a step in the right direction, but with shortages of staff they’re going to be wor4se than useless, according to the British Medical Association.

However, as Emily said, a no deal Brexit will mean that things for the hard-working many will be much, much worse.

We want change for the better, not a step into a disaster.

 at moment looking a though current leave. will be postponed for another 2 years. under  guise of too bad for. country!  what nobody  political wise is saying  is that democracy in Uk is at great risk by doing that!

was Not what was voted. on. was a simple stay or leave!  leave therefore ought to occur on date agreed. ANY other deals can be negotiated during leaving period OR afterwards.

sadly media ( BBC included) are so biased against us leaving ( as are  profit interests of  businesses and many MP’s) that true democracy will likely be  slain to keep these people happy!  a sad. day for Uk and all those that fought and died fro democracy in past!  wasn’t much point winning second world war it seems as we are surrendering  without a shot being fired.

Sceptical , haven’t you anything better to do than repeat the same rhetoric over and over about the EU ? It’s like groundhog day reading your one dimensional EU rubbish like an EU Goeblels propagandist that never shuts up and the people replying to it are as guilty as you regurgitating this repetitious dirge day after day… you’re spamming the board in a similar way to Q did minus the lol component. Most sane people would state their views and move on regardless of what others think, yet you seem determined to continue on like a malfunctioning droid typing the same shite.

We’ve got the message that you regard brexiteers as racist nazis – move on for your own sanity and everyone else on here.

How do you make that out??

Where do you get the two year figure, Just H. I’d be interested to know.

I know what’s going to happen as much as Theresa May. Once they reject her deal, we’re in uncharted territory.

But if you have any inside information, I’d be pleased if you share it.

    Not at all.

The vast majority of brexiteers are people who regard themselves as patriotic and are deeply concerned about the situation here.

But there is a small number of people in this country – a collection of genuine Fascists and Far Rightists of various descriptions – who do seem ready to turn to intimidation and violence to stop all democratic debate.

    Are you one of them??

    Just asking.

While the racist smears of the Leave campaign are brought out.

This is why I stopped responding to your ridiculous posts

Yes, you keep saying that you’re not responding…and saying it again.

    Don’t worry about it.

I’m happy you don’t respond. I’m only interested in serious responses, and if I don’t see any then I don’t respond either.

No need for you, or your compatriots,  to respond

    Should go without saying.
