Yesterday evening my pc suddenly re booted it’s self, twice. I have never had any pc do that before. My daughter was on some game site playing a game. Could that have had anything to do with it?
I checked the temperature, and it’s not too hot. No cables are loose. We didn’t have a power cut, so I’m baffled.

Have a look at http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000605.htm
18 June, 2010 at 3:23 pm #442036Yep I checked it’s inner temp. I’ve got this programe installed called AIDA32. I can check the temp of the motherboard and it’s currently at about 35c.
Looking at that link you gave me, I reckon it was to do with the game site my daughter was on. She went on there once before, and one of those warnings popped up that says your computer is infected with viruses. Much to her disgust I’ve banned the site now.
I have never ever had any pc do that to me before.22 June, 2010 at 10:25 am #442037Bat, take your daughter down to the A&E department of your nearest hospital and have both of her hands encased in Plaster of Paris. THAT will stop her from using the computer for a while.
Alternatively, make her sit in front of it for a few hours trying to clean off the virus / Trojan that she has caused to be downloaded onto it ….. and for good measure make her listen to classical music while she does this.

Will do PB. She’s disgusted with me. She still protests vehemently that it couldn’t possibly have been that blasted site. She even had the barefaced cheek to ask if she could log on again, to see if it did it again!!
I’ve told her that when she gets her own pc/laptop, if she wishes to go onto game sites/cheat sites she’s welcome. Then she can deal with all the viruses/spyware/malware and trojans that mysteriously appear on her pc, but she aint doing it to mine.
I asked dear old doa, he said that these kind of sites use up a lot of your pc’s recources, making it work harder, thus causing it to overheat, which makes sense. Of course according to her I made that up.
There is apparantly a virus called the blaster virus that can cause your pc to reboot itself, but that makes it happen almost constantly. This, (touch wood) hasn’t happened since I banned the site. Point made I think.
