I have a deep concern over a friend who gets palpatations all the time. He’s been to the GP and they say he has to go directly to A&E when he gets them again.
But, they only last for 15 mins or so, so when he arrives his heart is ok again.
    Does anyone experience this?

my mum has parkinsons white wolfe syndrome which is like a very rapid heartbeat. Unfortunately when she takes the palpitations she has to go to A&E too. She does however get routine ECGs.

Soz guess that doesnt help any. :?

My friend went to A&E and had all those sticky things put all over, which read ur heart rate. There was no record of palpatations and the docs came in smirkin as if their time was being wasted. My friend has been to the GP on numerous occasions with the same old shyte, if it happens go to A&E. Vicious circle eh?

:-k My heart speeds up and I can’t catch my breath sometimes. The doc said that I may have a touch of anxiety and are having panic attacks. There are prescriptions for such things, but I don’t think mine is that bad so I deal with it when I’m under pressure. Maybe your friend has more of a sever case of it.

Thanks for your replies. But i belive none of them are a diagnosis. It seems all palpatations are differnet in many cases. Any further remedies or diagnosis would be super cos the GP aint got no clue, neither has the 2nd opinion.

Hermy palpitations have many causes, if the doctor hasnt found anything wrong with your friend and neither has the second opion then your freind shudnt worry, although I have to say i would thing that a trip down a&e next time it happens is a good idea so they can se first hand what happens during the palpitations they can take an ecg while its going on and gt a beter idea.

I would ask for a scan tho cos I had heart problems and a scan showed up what the problem was. A scan (or ultra sound) can find everting , so i fnothing after the scan then doubt if theres much worong hun

They only last for 5 to 15 mins cath. Everytime he goes to A&E they have stopped when he arrives.
It is crazy at A&E though, he only waits 3 minutes and he is seeing a doctor.
Ya wanna see the faces on the poor bstards in reception who have been waiting for 4 hours or so!

If i ever need a wound stitching, im gonna say i have palpatations too so i can get in quick

I also suffer from palpitations…. usually just before sex. Mine also last for about 15mins but on a good day they can last up to an hour… :D
