You cant blame these people. They’re scared, and were obviously scared for their own safety and their families safety.
If I was sitting next to an Arabic looking person on a Plane during these times Id be watching them like a Hawk. I bet you a lot of other people would be as well.
It’s human nature.20 August, 2006 at 7:59 pm #236585@Bad Manners wrote:

It’s human nature.I see your point, but it is a victory for the people we, as decent, tolerant human beings are opposed to. :(

Two men removed from a plane on racial grounds. Islamic fundamentalists and the BNP will be celebrating big time. :(
Full story here.
Yes great news, the BNP are having a party, because our old gang politicians keep messing up :D
Keep it up guys, your making it easy for us, yippee!
21 August, 2006 at 6:12 pm #236588Islam’s two holiest cities are Mecca (population 1.3 million) and Medina (900,000), both in Saudi Arabia. Non-muslims are not permitted to enter either city.
Imagine if access to the city of Canterbury was limited to Anglicans!
Even the Vatican allows non-catholics, or even non-Christians to visit.
Imagine if only US citizenes were allowed to visit Washington DC.
Imagine if the citizens of Wolfsburg were only allowed to own VW cars!
Does anyone know of other examples of closed cities / areas, restricted to certain groups?
One example I can think of is an island in Greece where there is an Orthodox monastery. Men are free to visit the island but women are strictly forbidden.
21 August, 2006 at 6:30 pm #236589Have you ever tried to enter East Belfast?
21 August, 2006 at 6:48 pm #236590No, but I hope to visit one day.
21 August, 2006 at 10:32 pm #236591CNN reports on the Hajj quite often, so I don’t think it’s true that non-muslims are not allowed in those places.
Going back to the monacrh airlines story, the passengers were in the wrong. Imagine if during the IRA bombing campaign people had asked for Irish people to be thrown out of public venues such as pubs and restaurants or from public transport.

Interesting to hear another passenger’s version of events
Read this, and if it’s true as stated,
What would YOU have done?
