Why?
Each day I awake
Open my weary blue eyes
Ask the same old question
Why?
Why did I awake?
Why will I get out of bed?
Most of all
Why do I carry on?
Why do I fight this daily battle?
Is it because I’m scared?
Scared of dieing
Scared of what might be
Or scared to leave my loved ones behind
Am I brave?
Brave enough to face each day
Each day as it comes
Strong enough to rise to the challenge
Wise enough to realise paradise is around the corner
Or just plain stupid
I don’t know
One thing is for sure though
I will ask the same question tomorrow
