its funny how the american children will grow up without knowing their parents who died in Al Quidas attacks yet they always “forget” to meantion the kids in iraq, afganastan etc who also will never know there parents thanks to the americans !!!!.
Granted the death of anyone is regretable , however in the case of iraq
it has never been the intention of america to kill innocent people, 911 and the LONDON
BOMBINGS , were a deliberate act of terrorsiam , without regard for human life innocent
or not .As far as im aware american forces have never used human shields or placed arms
cache beneath schools and hospitals ………… in order to receive respect you need to show
respect …..2 May, 2011 at 4:03 pm #467496Bat .. I am sure there are many who are glad he is dead, something which I can understand if they have been bereaved.
However, celebrating his death only gives his supporters more reasons to continue and is a typical example of actions which perpetuate hatred and acts of terrorism. 2 wrongs do not make a right.
If someone feels happy that he has been killed, there is no need for or useful purpose in public celebration.
As Lucy said …. many have lost parents, children, brothers, sisters, friends through war and acts terrorism in all parts of the world – those who we agree with and those we oppose.
By all means have the feelings, but maybe the mature action is to keep them to yourself.2 May, 2011 at 4:47 pm #4674972 May, 2011 at 4:53 pm #467498i dont think bin ladden ever even existed
its all made up propaganda :roll:2 May, 2011 at 5:00 pm #467499I read that he was offered the chance to surrender before being killed, and that his body wasis being treated in accordance with the Islam faith.
As for the celebrations, I think it is a country recognising that there can be some closure for all those involved.
Will his death prevent further acts of terrorism? Probably not, but all the time we are intolerant of other peoples faith, views, ideas and so on are we ever going to see true peace?

Now I’m not defending Bin Laden but the Yanks and UK soldiers aren’t exactly smelling of roses either, are they?
We will never know the full extent of war crimes committed by either the US or the UK troops as it will be a bit embarrasing, won’t it?
Now 3000 died in 9/11 and another 56 died in 7/7.
We will never know how many civilians have died in Iraq and Afghanistan at the hands of the British and UK forces.
2 May, 2011 at 5:57 pm #467501Pure fantasy.
The guy died a long time ago.It would seem this particular manifestation of the phantom bad guy image has run it’s course.
That’s all that happened today.
Buried at sea huh?
The most wanted man in the world living in a mansion a few miles from an army base huh?
Yeah.. right.“The Bigger The Lie…”
As some of the vacuous, opportunist and populist rhetoric demonstrates this very day.The timing says it all.
All these North African/ Middle Eastern states conveniently falling and “changing”.
“Arab Springs”, “Mission Accomplished” etc..
This nice little sideshow will give us a little break to sleep comfortable in our beds for a wee time.
Needless to say the triumphalist circus will roll on for a little, tempered with the inevitable calls for “Vigilance”.
Then we will be led once again (with very little persuasion) towards the new incarnation of global badness.. yeah, like some kinda diabolical Dr. Who regeneration.Uh huh.. get ready for a new allignment people!
Maybe China? (Just in time for it to surpass all as the leading economic power in the world? How very dare they!)
Maybe a return to our old baddie friends the Russians? (They aren’t too happy with NATO at the mo!)
Pakistan? (They aren’t too happy about the Mossad like operation performed on their soil. A nice nuclear power too! Oh yes! Delicious!)
Who knows? But there will be something or someone.. and soon.
The Bogeyman is coming.
Sleep well
:wink:2 May, 2011 at 6:10 pm #467502Maybe this is just the beginning………..after death comes Martyrdom.
2 May, 2011 at 6:18 pm #467503Well the conspiracy theories abound, :?
I do not blindly accept everything I am told or that I read… I do however think this is true… he is dead… but I cant wait for the movie to come out to find out what REALLY happened :D :D :D

Agreed tinks.
The perceived martyrdom of fallen leaders was always a source of increased activity for Irish Republican terrorists.. going all the way back to 1916.
Indeed, this new bogeyman may be just an extension of the last. We are being led to believe that the world of militant Islam has never been in such turmoil and flux, even by it’s on volatile standards.
There’s a huge amount of spin going on at the mo.. hard to pin down the truth of it all. Massively emotive imagery.. news feeds from Ground Zero, White House press official frenzy, reprisal fear etc .
All great fuel for patriotic fire. -
