both villages are next to the village of Great Snoring, whihc you get to after a certain amount of pleasurable work – again Google map it, it’s true.
I so hope the Olympic Committee are going to employ the unemployed to dance around Maypoles merrily, watched on by smiling bobbies on bikes. All teh kids could have smutty faces and cockney caps so they look like the chimney boys from Mary Poppins. They oculd be mixed in with the rosy-cheeked boys and girls form posh families, laughing and clapping their hands.
Perhaps Dick van Dyke could be brought in to sing chim chim cheree, so that we get a fuller taste of the real England.
We could cap it off with Cosy riding round the green on his bike puffing on his fag and complaining about all the beggars.

We are the most densely populated island in the world. Our dream is rural – our reality is urban.
Perhaps we should just depict rural life with a couple of scenes from The Wicker Man and move straight to urban life depicted by young people, with no hope, burning, beating and looting. Welcome to Britain.
Only joking – even though there are lots of things wrong with this country, I’d rather be here and dealing with it, than somewhere else!
Looking forward to the Olympics, just not the opening ceremony, which after the Chinese spectacular might be a bit cringey.
Will be trying not to cry if we win a gold medal in the athletics. Big sentimental baby really.
