I hate to point out that this isn’t a debate.
Debate
n.
1. A discussion involving opposing points; an argument.
2. Deliberation; consideration: passed the motion with little debate.
3. A formal contest of argumentation in which two opposing teams defend and attack a given proposition. In debating, we choose the stance on a topic that we wish to defend, and say our piece. We then allow the other side to say their piece, and we listen and take on board what is being said. We then continue to defend our stance taking into account what the other side has said, expanding on our viewpoint and stating why we disagree with the other side…and so on as each side develops their argument whilst taking into account the other side’s viewpoint.
It is not about gaining agreement, neither is it about making the same statements over and over again like a broken record; it is about exploring both sides of an argument to gain a better understanding of an issue.
The best debaters can effectively debate both sides of an argument in an objective and considered manner regardless of what their personal opinions are.

27 April, 2010 at 12:55 pm #438446I don’t think I have ever professed a belief, feeling or virtue that I don’t hold or possess, as for falseness I am always true to myself, for the only person that I have to be able to live with is myself.
As far as the line of this thread is concerned, I am honoured to count heterosexual, bisexual and homosexual people of both sexes amongst my friends. I take each person as I find them; I don’t think about what they might get up to in the privacy of their own bedrooms whatever their sexual persuasion, nor do I judge them for it. If I judge them, and I suppose that I must do in order to consider them friends, then I judge them on their words and actions and how they treat others. They are all good people – otherwise they wouldn’t be my friends.
If truth be told there are straight people with what I personally consider to be far more deviant tendencies than any of my bisexual and homosexual friends.

GOOD GRIEF, You’re entitled to your opinions, we are entitled to ours….. why do you keep dragging it on and on and on. You bleet on every time someone doesnt agree with yours, no one attacks you until you attack their opinion or view first. Sadly you have chosen a moderate meduim to voice your rather extreme views, now take a deep breath and think before you type.
Your arrogance beggers belief at times
