I unistalled go back then decided to reinstall windows. Now when I switch pc on, it doesn,t play the music, the icons are too big, I can,t use system restore because it doesn,t go far enough back. Don,t know what to do now. Help?

monitor.
http://www.microsoft.com/enable/training/windowsxp/screenresolution.aspxYou need to get Service Pack 2 and anti virus software on there quick!

http://www.avast.com/I have service pack 2 and anti virus. I,ve done at least a million virus scans and got rid of spyware. I think it may be a dial up connection prob, so I,ve just downloaded another connection manager thingy from BT. Here,s hoping.

Sounds like you’ve installed XP over the top of the last install and retained
your program files.
I suggest you back up your documents, pictures etc to disk and perform a
clean install

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/expert/honeycutt_02october07.mspxI,ve just finished doing a clean install. Very stressful it was too.
I,ve also bought norton anti virus 2005 so cross fingers everything is ok for me now.10 November, 2005 at 1:04 am #161256I have little faith in Norton, I’ve heard a lot of incompatibility stories
about it. Also, you’ll have to purchase again in twelve months time
when the license runs out.
There’s free antivirus software on the net that’s perfectly adequate!
http://www.webuser.co.uk/products/AntiVirus_200_index.htmlYou need a firewall!
(ZoneAlarm is good, and easy to use)
After installing your firewall you need to turn off the Windows firewall.
It’s automatically activated after you install SP2.
The reason for turning off the Windows firewall is, that it’s not very
good, and running two firewalls at the same time is not recommended.
