From Sheffield South Yorkshire – lived here all my life. I have moved four houses in a radius of about 4 miles if that. I’m from a typical steelworking background with a very close knit family. Sister lives a mile up the road and my auntie lives next door with various other aunties and uncles all within a few miles. Also have strong ties with the East Coast but thats another story

I heard they’re to be demolished.
    It’s a shame.
When you saw Meadowhall on the left of the M1 and those towers on the right you knew you were “oop north”.

I used to visit Sheffield on a regular basis and I do remember Stannington, Crosspool and the Eccleshall Road among other places.

I am from Dorset originally – went back for a holiday recently & realised what a beautiful part of the world it is – (too expensive to return). :(

Have lived in several regions of the UK – some nicer than others.
I spend alot of time in Teesside these days – what a very under rated area of the country.
Yes bits of it are industrial & yes many of the the big towns ie Middlesbrough has been left to rot – but there is also alot of redevelopment going on.

I hold my hands up to thinking it was all greyhounds & mushy peas up there – but a friendlier area I have yet to find with some of the nicest counrtyside 5 mins from most of the big towns

Oh yeah & they do crackin parmo’s & wicked lemon tops !!!!

    Have a nice day :D/
