Is that why tyre fitters call us ‘sir’ or ‘madam’?
A girl I befriended because I felt she needed someone used to always be round borrowing the odd thing. Nothing too big, the odd bag of sugar, tea bags etc. She used to hug me and tell me what a good friend I was. She was on a Methadone programne. It was getting so I expected it when she called and it used to irk me.
One day I said no.
She called me a pig to a dog and I saw her true colours. I’d shown her nothing but kindnessWhy do people always borrow bags of sugar? Is it some sort of tradition. I’ve never borrowed a bag of sugar and I don’t think anyone’s ever borrowed one from me!!

Ive borrowed a bowl of sugar, a bowl of salt, a half jar of gravy granules, a tampon, and supernoodles.
Ive leant a lawnmower, a pint of milk and a half jar of coffee.
Never borrowed or lent a bag of anything.
