I was only made aware of this yesterday….many of you may already be aware of but because I don’t do social media I have not come across it

From July 1st, if you have not opted out of the NHS confidential sharing information scheme, your details will be shared with certain agencies. If you opt out any time after the 1st any information already shared will not and cannot be retrieved and deleted from certain agencies but from the date of opt out no further information will be shared.

Its very sneaky as usual….apparently its ok to share our information without even writing to us to let us know our private information will be shared….rather than writing to us to let us know we can opt in should we wish to

I wont put the link up as you may think its dodgy….just google NHS Opt out……3 simple questions bish bash bosh you’re done!

They have sold medical data for years and opting out won’t stop them from doing it still anyway.

I feel sharing medical information is important.  They can give my records to anyone they want. Let me tell you why: these are treatment records.

A list of all the drugs and treatment you have had since you were born.

In the last few years existing drugs were found to treat other issues beyond there original scope.  If we think of the humble aspirin: originally this drug was just used for headaches.  Today its a heart treatment, used for Kawasaki disease, pericarditis, and rheumatic fever. Its been around 1897 too.

So if my medical records help researchers find cheap existing drugs with a proven safety record who am I to say no?

Any idea of medical recording being confidential went out the window when the public accepted the idea of vaccine passports.

If anyonce can demand to see vaccination records for trivial reasons, then why not any other record? There is no principal on which you can oppose it.

Although my point wasn’t that the NHS would sell data officially.

Like with any large organisation lots of people have access to data that they can sell off to make money on the side with little to no risk of ever being caught.

It will mostly be used for is for targeting adverts, like all data is.

I dont feel like explaining it so I will let someone else.
