Same with us for the last 14 years! We did go out last year to a wedding reception but that was only because the boys were guests too. We might go up the legion this year but its a tenner a ticket and the kids need a ticket so thats 40 quid before we even have a drink so we are still debating whether its worth it.
To be honest new years eve is really hyped up, its not really any different to any other night and while the boys are still boys I dont really want to spend it without them, the most important part as you say is family (do i sound like Peggy mitchell lol!!)
27 December, 2007 at 3:13 pm #296797Last time i went out New Years Eve i paid £35 for a ticket to a pub which said it was open late and having a party just to get booted out 30 mins after midnight at 12:30 because they were closing, What a fecking rip off. Then you got the age old New years Eve custom of waiting for 2 hours for a cab then having a fight because someone try’s too nick it when it turns up. Then get stung for the fare. So i f you didn’t guss already i don’t bother anymore
27 December, 2007 at 3:13 pm #296798The things that piss me off about new year, are the morons who go out, and come home about 2 am out of their trees and start arguing. One year, we had a group of blokes, with their lady friends, and the blokes were actually standing in the middle of the road fighting, at 2 am. Someone called the cops and they came out with a riot van and police dogs, ffs. I can,t be doing with being disturbed at 2 am by drunken morons. If they do it this year I,ll go out in my volvo and run the bastards over. That,ll learn em.
